[Deck Profile] Revisiting þe olde Wind-Up Monarchs

Maybe someone reading here remembers my old deck from March 6th 2012 called Wind-Up Monarchs. The initial idea of the deck stemed from Kimika, but the execution was from me all together with an old illustration by the me (even thought Kimika is way way better in drawing than me. I don't even call that what I drew a drawing compared what he does. :3):

Because the idea is still the same.
Why am I updating it? Am I going out of ideas? Hell no, it's just because of the Mega Monarchs being released!

Folks, here it is, the revisited Wind-Up Monarchs for the format of January 2013!

Monster (23):
3 Caius the Shadow Monarch
3 Raiza the Storm Monarch
1 Granmarg the Mega Monarch

2 Maxx "C"
2 Effect Veiler
1 Battle Fader

Spells (10):
3 Enemy Controller
3 Soul Exchange
2 Wind-Up Factory
1 Creature Swap
1 Foolish Burial

2 Trap Stun
2 Phoenix Wing Wind Blast

1 Solemn Warning
1 Torrential Tribute

Extra Deck (15):

1 Gaia the Thunder Charger

I hope Testalos and Raiza the Mega Monarch will turn out as good as the ones we got until now.

Anyway, this deck functions the same as the old one with the difference, that some things changed since back then.

First of all, the combo:

Get Rabbit to the grave. Summon Rat, use its effect, get Rabbit back, banish Rat with Rabbit.
That's the setup.

Now each turn, Rat returns, which you can turn to attack position, use its effect and summon Rabbit. Use Rabbit to banish Rat. Your opponent can't do anything towards the returning Rat, and if he wants to activate something upon the summon of Rabbit, you can just chain Rabbit to banish Rat again. After Rat is banished, you can tribute Rabbit for our beloved Monarchs.

Due to the different attributes of our Wind-Ups (EARTH, WATER and FIRE) and also Raiza, we can actually use the different Monarchs and their additional skills.

Ok, so what has changed since the last time?

I played with triple Zenmaity to summon my Wind-Ups to the field (+Hunter)
Now we have to rely on the Wind-Up engine itself. Use Magician and/or Factory to get the pieces to your hand. You just need Rat and Rabbit, but we all know how hard that can be. With this upcoming format ahead of us, I just think we get more time to set up than last format. Also, the Wind-Up Engine can play with itself while the Monarchs may be away for the time. Wind-Ups like to summon Xyz monsters.

I played with the Frog engine
Gone. Just gone. The strength of this deck lies also in it being able to play trap cards due to not playing Treeborn Frog.

This also decloged the deck for cards like Enemy Controller and Soul Exchange to be played. I also included a Creature Swap for the Noble Knights match-up. The traps are chosen from the chainable and strong ones.

For the Extra Deck I've chosen a good variaty of monsters that can be summoned with this deck throught the Wind-Ups and Monarchs.

This is it for today! Hope you enjoyed it. :3
