[Deck Profile] Once long time ago...

...I was an adventurer just like you but then I took an arrow to the knee. It hurt, it was bleeding. I felt the pain, something I never felt before. But then there came Gearfried. This heroic knight...

Last week I featured one of my favorite Sworns, the JtmtctwbtlbtadteImIcjctdslDotMesIutcibtwklsI dtmtlteahiibyiwkftbtdbfIjwtfadwCDmpsatiwLbtIfohstdwwiastiaiuDwcslaYLwwtaiitewaIatatdIsbtattaIciwtsebcatbttMtGctwcOMRSTPLRLCNSWMTCtHtALCNEEadlmlastacnsIcjcttltalaisowtflsaIrwtstamawtfatdwwaaaiImwhiIttlasncaltGTtIryaiwahicbyjhtppzppzpzkzpppzpzzpppkbiiatfGtGatclywhGbfyfiioybIfitSnftGOcwaImwhaWaaSSDSHdHffagaatfADfepbaslMeSdTwsjalsnbtwIhtmBunillaloittawIaaiIcatahBwcrotwaodaywbobhwwltmpasbwaktBwkuiwdnfhlsyahBygtsnwIaattyaikfwyasrtIminlyhtosmywbtwbkmualabbyIcajtytswpfotathtgpfvdastwaldpbtyhthtputstptanwayttsapiibbattatstroaciasopwwvdfitattdfetbwfsparwutsgdatjootwwystwsafattltniTstthtraasjoapogstnwestawmasaswcatitlwotgatslaysoGYGOCtyktopoetalsltoIttieltbfsttltihfadaabpsworn which has a element much people would kill for to have that until today in their decks, I'm talking of course about the famous Yata-Lock you are causing with Lightray Diabolos.

Now imagine we have the Shi En negate instruments in a Lightsworn Deck. Lightray Gearfried gives us this possibillity. It single handed negates any Spell/Trap card by banishing 1 Warrior monster from your Graveyard as long as you only control Warrior monsters on your side of the field. This alone gives me the reason to play this card. But he isn't as easy to play as Diabolos, as Diabolos plays on speed while Gearfried plays on safety, control.

So how do I build Lightsworn 'slower' then normal while maintaining a sure strategy and a good consistency? This is where the second star (and it's helper) sets in; Lightray Grepher. Lightray Grepher lets me discard 1 LIGHT monster to banish 1 LIGHT monster from my deck. Simple as that and it sounds rather stupid on the first thought, as nothing else happens with that card. It is just banished.

But don't we wish that card to see in our hand or field? I mean you can at least safe Judgment Dragon and Lightray Gearfried with it from milling. Now we need our little helper called Light of Redemption. This card let's you pay 800 Lifepoints to return 1 LIGHT monster from your banished pile to your hand. So with that you can search out ANY Lightmonster you need for a single -1 (Summon is considered -0, discard -1, activate Light of Redemption -1, return Light monster +1). Don't forget that also stuff like Effect Veiler is LIGHT.

There is something else to mention about Lightray Grepher's effect. It also sets up any LIGHT monster for Leviair which can be summoned as easy as with Tour Guide. So you can either get any LIGHT monster to your hand or to your field (as long as it is Level 4 or lower).

With all of this direct searches or direct summons you are assured to have the desired monsters in your hand or on your field to set of the full potential of this deck. So people, we now can negate Spells and Traps as desired with Lightsworns.

Oh yeah, Me Gusta Bunilla is just awesum.
