[Deck Profile] Ribbit Ribb' Ribbit....

New Year's coming to an end and Order of Chaos is almost here, so the question is what should we review in the time between? To be honest it was not easy to find something.
Though thinking back we most likely covered most of the really popular archetype Decks from the last 3 years... except for Gladis, X-Sabers, Blackwing, Infernity and Frogs....

Since most of them belong to the Anti-Format we've not really given them any attention so far... though we might do so in case we really get out of ideas OR are on waiting...

Well... seems like this week is exactly such a case and we have decided to bring you a Frog Deck; so, let's have a look on that.

Monster (27):

3x Dupe Frog
3x Swap Frog
1x Ronintoadin
2x Treeborn Frog
1x Sangan
3x Battle Fader
1x Dark Dust Spirit
3x Caius the Shadow Monarch
3x Raiza the Storm Monarch
2x Light and Darkness Dragon
1x Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning
1x Gorz the Emissary of Darkness
2x Maxx "C"
1x Effect Veiler

Spell (13):

3x Soul Exchange
1x Pot of Avarice
1x Monster Reborn
1x Foolish Burial
1x Dark Hole
1x Heavy Storm
2x Mystical Space Typhoon
3x Enemy Controller

Extra Deck (15):
1x Stardust Dragon
1x Scrap Dragon
1x Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
1x Black Rose Dragon
1x Ancient Fairy Dragon
1x Sea Dragon Lord Gishilnodon (honesty, put anything inside here you prefer, this is just for show)
1x A.O.J. Catastor
1x T.G. Hyper Librarian
1x Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
1x Orient Dragon
2x Gachi Gachi Gantetsu
1x Wind-Up Zenmaines
1x Leviair the Sea Dragon
1x No.17 Revise Dragon

Now some people might be wondering why we would ever considering playing Frogs again now that we don't have any Fishborg Blasters anymore... But let me be straight... Frognarchs will never die out as long as there is their beloved Treeborn Frog!

Notice that this Frognarch Deck is starring an old Star which has not been seen on stage for quite some time; let us all welcome Dupe Frog!
With the missing of Formula Synchron and Fishborg Blaster I admit that the double abuse of free Hand Card and the option of Synchro Summon have been decreased by a lot. But let's think about this one final time.

Back then we had to discard 1 Hand Card in order to special summon Fishborg Blaster and with the Summon of Formula Synchron we gained 1 Extra Hand Card. So, come to think of it the only thing we are missing now is the easy Synchro Summon. But to be fair, do we really need Synchro Summon that badly thesedays?

Well, to get perfectly to my point, Dupe Frog in this Format will most likely do the same Job as Formula Synchron IF not even better.

First of all we have here a Level 2 Monster with an almost undeniable Defense of 2000 in front of us. As if that would be not enough he's great material for a Gachi Gachi Gantetsu and we all should by now know how much that thing rocks! Also this little thing allows you to search for another Frog whenever it goes from the Field to the Graveyard (now remember, same issue as Sangan, so... don't think too far)!

So adding everything together I even dare to claim that not even Fishborg Blaster can really keep up with this little guy.

In addition, since we do use Dupe Frog in this Deck, apart from only Treeborn Frog, we have even more reasons to run 3 copies of Enemy Controllers (YEAH!!!! SETO KAIBA!!!!!), since in combination with Dupe Frog you can manage to reduce your opponent's overall Card Capacity while maintaining your own, furthermore you can even make it a bigger advantage by tribute his stolen Monster for one of your Monarchs.

Overall this Deck Might has its personal problems in this Format, but it is without doubt still fairly playable and your opponents won't be prepared for this one, so it's worth giving it a shot.

PS: Be prepared for another Monarch Deck soon! (After the Release of Order of Chaos)

  2. AOI and Treeborn always contradicted one another in my eyes, so I hate the idea of putting Aoi into a frog deck when you want to summon Treeborn as often as possible...
Prefering Faders over Tragoedia since they are searchable...

  3. Activate Aoi by releasing Treeborn in Stanby Phase, then special summon back the Treeborn that you had released just now in the same Stanby Phase.
You will end up with a +1 this way.

  6. K. Thinking doesn't help you further with this. Building it, testing it, this is how you get results out of decks you think that aren't that good anymore.

Then again. We didn't post it, because it is considered 'good' we posted it, because we wanted to show you a roughly build of a Frog Monarch so you can test and build it and have fun with it. If you don't want to, you don't have to.

If you think it's bad, then thats fine with me.
