[Deck Profile] T.G. Agent

Welcome to the second part of our T.G.-Special. This time it's all about Hong Kong Top Tier Deck T.G. Agent. I may have to say beforehand that this is going to be an alternative version of a T.G. Agent. Like most of the Decks I am uploading on Troll Decking, this Deck was not Net Decked but was build up started from scratch. So, here's the Deck:

Monsters (22):
3x Mystical Shine Ball
1x Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning
1x Gorz Emissary of Darkness
3x Master Hyperion
3x T.G. Rush Rhino
1x T.G. Striker
3x T.G. Warwulf
3x Venus
1x Jupiter
3x Earth

Spells (6):
1x Pot of Duality
1x Monster Reborn
1x Dark Hole
1x Heavy Storm
2x Mystical Space Typhoon

Traps (12):
2x Bottomless Trap Hole
2x Dimensional Prison
3x Horn of the Phantom Beast
1x Mirror Force
1x Torrential Tribute
2x Solemn Warning
1x Solemn Judgment

Note: This Decklist was made before Zenmaines was out. Obviously due to Warwulf and Venus, this Deck is going to run one or two by most likely ditching Gaia and Scrap Archfiend.

So: Extra Deck (15):
1x Cathastor
1x Brionac Dragon
1x Black Rose Dragon
1x T.G. Hyper Librarian
1x T.G. Wonder Magician
1x T.G. Power Gladiator
1x Scrap Dragon
1x Stardust Dragon
2x Wind-Up Zenmaines
2x Gachi Gachi Gantetsu
1x Steelswarm Roach
1x Leviathan Dragon
1x Leviair Dragon

Now before I go into details I want to mention that T.G. Agent is a wonderful example for a Flexible Deck Type. What does that mean? It means that this is one of those Decks which you have total freedom of deciding how you want to win the game. It can be for instance with Rush Strategies or it can go with the goal of slowly gaining advantage and make sure your opponent runs out of options. These two main strategies of Decks have their advantages and disadvantages. The best way to explain it would be like following: A Rush Aggro variation (most likely focus on quick special summoning and turn kill with help of Hyperion and Synchro Monsters such as Trishula and Scrap Dragon) requires a fast control over the Deck. That variation is what I have seen most of the time people playing.

Those Decks have certain problems for my taste though. First, you totally rely on a very few combination of hand cards. Thus, it relies on 3 Pot of Dualities and 3 T.G. Strikers. Before it can launch the final attack, it often has problems surviving the time. But overall they can still be a lot faster than any other variations.

The changes needed to be performed on this Decklist here in order to create that kind of a T.G. Agent Deck is most likely kicking 2 Rush Rhinos and all the Horn of the Phantom Beasts and replace them with 2 T.G. Strikers, 2 additional copies of Pot of Duality and for example a Trap Dustshoot.

Now since that Deck is like sooo common and most likely only dominant in the OCG (remember, no Tourguide and no Tengu for them) I've tried to make a whole different type of a T.G. Agent Deck, which most likely stand a bigger chance in Europe and the States.

These kind of Decks I prefer to call Slow Advancing Beat Down Decks, which are, of course another sub-type of Control Decks.

Since we just got Zenmaines out like yesterday here, the Deck becomes even stronger in the Stall/Defensive Areas.

With the old Extra Deck I still had on this Picture the Stats given to it was:

Offence: 6
Defence: 5
Speed: 5
Control: 4
Swarm: 3

However, due to the fact that we now can Summon 1 Zenmaines and 1 Gachi Gachi Gantetsu onto the field at almost the same time with the combo Venus -> Shine Ball -> Warwulf the whole parameter gets another boost up in Defence, Swarm and Stall. Thus, maybe the Offence one may drop a little bit due to having an additional option to play defensive, though in my eyes both options are now in the exact same deck and thus just making another option available, being actually a 100% power-up.

So, with that being told the stats would most likely look like this now:

Offence: 6
Defence: 6
Speed: 5
Control: 4
Swarm: 4
Stall: 5

The statistic pushed on this deck is very high, so are my expectations. The reasons why this Deck does run 3 Rhinos and 3 Horns instead of Strikers and Pot of Dualities is due to its play style.

As mentioned before, the OCG does not have to suffer like the TCG with nasty Tourguides and Tengus. That speed gained from those 2 sets of cards is simply unforgiving. Thus, you have to find a solution to fight Poison with another Poison and this Deck seems to be an additional option now. This Deck relies on your opponent wasting all their gunpowder to wipe out your field. And it can restock right after that's been made.

The downside however on general T.G. Agents (exception for the T.G. Agent Mash variation with having the opposite problem, but that will be presented with a possible Monster Mash Special with a lot of Monster Mash Decks our team adores to play) is that as soon as your field is indeed empty, you have absolutely nothing to protect yourself from receiving damage.

But since that's almost the problem all Meta Decks suffer from I think that's a thing people can live with.

That's it for this week's T.G. Special, T.G. Tengu Scrap is next on the list, but since I've received a request on doing T.G. Beat I might be swapping them out or just ditching T.G. Doppel since I totally hate that one.... we will see.

As my final words for this Entry. I recommend this Deck to every T.G.-Fan to test out, it is by far not the cheapest T.G. Deck available but it is one of the fastest ones and also aggressive ones... You won't regret having tested it, as it being for getting another reference over the T.G. and Agent Archetypes or simply for your personal amusement or being wished to be sadistic with playing a Deck forcing your opponent to waste up all his supply and having nothing left than being slowly killed while unarmed.

EDIT: After adding the Zenmaines I've also adjusted the deck to be more suited for stalling. Thus I've decided to call this Deck T.G. Agent STL
