Yes, this is Crystal Beasts. This is the deck we all hate and love at the same time. Why did I even bother to build  this deck? Well, it is shiny. And it even got more shiny with Legendary Collection 2.

Do I think it's worth playing? Yes, yes, indeed. It is satisfying to play against stuff like Blackwing or something and just, well, win. (Althought it is way, waaaaaay to slow to kill Tengu Plants. If you can prove otherwise, then, Happy Birthday to you son.)

Then why did I even collect this stuff together? Kevin Tewart statet, that there will be more shiny Crystal Beast stuff and that they are on a high place on the 'New-Support-for-getting-Ass-Broken' list.

Let's talk about some cool stuff this deck can do:

Hand: Sapphire Pegasus + Crystal Beacon

Summon Pegasus: Place Ruby Carbuncle in your Spell/Trap cards zone. If Pegasus gets destroyed, place him in your Spell/Trap cards zone. Now activate Crystal Beacon and summon Ruby Carbuncle to your side of the field from your deck. Activate it's effect and summon Pegasus and Carbuncle from your backrow. Form a Chain Link with both effects now activating (Pegasus & Ruby Carbuncle) with Carbuncle as CL 1 and Pegasus CL 2. Pegasus now places a Pegasus from your deck to your backrow and Carbuncle Special Summons him from there. (Activate his effect to place another Pegasus back there)

Result: 2 Carbuncle and 2 Pegasus on your side of the field with the possibility to Xyz some stuff.

Another example:

Hand: Summoner Monk + Genex Ally Birdman + Any Spell Card

Summon Summoner Monk and use it's effect by discarding a Spell and summon Pegasus from your deck. Use Pegasuses effect to place either Pegasus or Carbuncle into your backrow. Now bounce Pegasus back to your hand and summon Birdman. Because Pegasus is a WIND monster, Birdman now has 1900 ATK. So you can ATK with 1900 and/or summon a LV7 Synchro Monster like Arcanite Magician/BRD/Ancient Fairy Dragon.

Result: Less opponents field and a Pegasus waiting for being summoned.

The most effective way to play this deck is by reading the cards and think of any combinations possible.

Kevin Tewart, please broke Crystal Beasts, 'cause I'm ready.

  1. I have a question (this deck looks awesome btw): What happens when my opponent solemns a crystal beast? do they go to the s/t zone or not? It was not successfully summoned, i know that, but it was a monster in a monster card zone. Does this mean anything or not?

  2. Thanks, we enjoy hearing that people like to play our decks. It is an honor for us. About your question: Solemn negates the Summon and therefore it was never on the field and is unable to go to the S/T zone upon destruction.

  3. you should totally remake this deck with the new Advanced Dark field spell coming out for these guys

  4. Yah, I've seen that card. I'm already thinking about how to build this. I think it will be hell of a fun.

  5. Ummm.... I've been playing crystal beasts for a while now and I know for sure that the first combo of Pegasus + Beacon doesn't work like that. When you special summon Carbuncle from the deck and get the Pegasus and Carbuncle, Carbuncle cannot start a Chain Link 1 because there are no Crystal Beasts in the S/T zone and thus cannot activate its effect. You cannot activate meaningless card effects in Yu-Gi-Oh! Here's something from the Yu-Gi-Oh! wikia for more proof : http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Card_Rulings:Crystal_Beast_Ruby_Carbuncle
